Voxotor Privacy Policy

Voxotor is a personal reading service: you give it the text of a web article, and it cleans the text up and reads it aloud to you. This policy describes what data is involved and how it is handled.

What the browser extension does

• The extension acts only when you click its toolbar button. It then captures the visible text of the page in the current tab (the same text you would get by selecting all and copying), together with the page's address and title.
• That captured text is handed to voxotor.com in a new tab so the article can be added to your own Voxotor library and read aloud.
• The extension does not read your browsing history, does not run on pages in the background, does not collect analytics, and does not store any credentials. Signing in happens on voxotor.com itself.

What Voxotor stores

• Your account: Voxotor uses Google Sign-In. We store your Google account's basic profile (name, email address, profile picture) to identify your library.
• Your articles: the text you submit and the cleaned-up version are saved in your personal article history so you can listen again later. You can delete any article, at any time, from your library.
• Your preferences: reading voices, playback speed, and theme.
• Generated audio: narration audio is cached so repeated listening is instant. The cache is keyed by the text content, not by your identity.

How submitted text is processed

Submitted page text is processed by automated language-processing and speech-synthesis systems solely to remove boilerplate (menus, adverts) and to produce narration. It is not used to build advertising profiles and is not sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.

Sharing

Articles you save are private to your account unless you share a link. Sharing a link lets the recipient copy that article into their own library. You can mark any article private to disable sharing.

Your choices

• Delete any article from your library at any time — deletion is immediate.
• Uninstall the extension at any time; it keeps nothing behind.
